Got some SAT?

If you think that your school tests are tough it is because you haven’t taken an SAT. Today, I made myself present to the nearest city test center, EIS, to perform my SAT Reasoning Test. I merely prepared myself for the challenge, because of many school assignments, projects, and other commitments. But apparently 20 hours of study were enough to encourage me to face the test.

As I have proposed to myself to achieve a better education, I have as a goal to studying abroad, specificly in the United States. In order to obtain this, I have to do an excellent job in a standardized test for college admission.  I remember studying like for two hours per day for six weeks in a row; I understood everything and felt that I had mastered SAT.  But as the bimester in school was about to be finished, so much homework didn´t give me time to study for my test. As a result, I completely neglected my primordial goal.

Theater Night

How wonderful is to presence one of your favorites stories in a play! Last Friday night, all high school attended the theater, José Francisco Saybe, to witness one of the best plays ever. For my surprise, the play was about one of my favorite stories since I was young. The play was originally titled “El Milagro de Ana Sullivan” which is about the incredible biography of Helen Keller.
To begin with, Helen Keller, as many people would know, was a child who, at the age of 19 months, lost her hearing and vision caused by a high fever and who, against overwhelming odds and with a great deal of persistence, grew into a highly intelligent and sensitive woman who wrote, spoke, and labored incessantly for the betterment of others.  Helen Keller is a real example for people that believe they have no purpose in life because of a handicap.

My First Senior Activity!

Today, October 28 2011, we Sunshine High School seniors achieved our first fundraising activity. This event was a school movie which took place in the school´s auditorium where the movie was displayed in two projectors to provide a better view. The selling of popcorns, refreshments, and doughnuts was really good regarding the raise of money. We all seniors did an outstanding job taking care of the kids, managing time, and cleaning the mess that the toddlers had done.
Days before, we thought that this fundraising would be the worst in the school´s history. We had difficulties choosing the movie and because of it we ended up displaying an old movie which most of the students had already seen. Also some of my classmates forgot the materials they had been assigned. On top of it, we had so many homework, classwork and social work which had to be finished for that same day. The unpleasant atmosphere was overcoming our patience and peace.

Friendship

Are you a good friend? Do you know what are the elements for being one? A friend is someone who is honest and you can trust. A friend is someone who you hang out with a lot, and someone you rely on. Friendship is being there for someone when they need you, and to have a common bond to have the freedom of hanging out with each other and to be comfortable around each other. The main ideas of friendship are honesty and trust, and love.

Without honesty and trust friendship wouldn’t last very long. Friendship would be held up by honesty or integrity. Trust is another important thing that relates to honesty, your friends really need to trust you. Honesty and trust are very important but so is love also. Love means you really care about your friends and how he or she is feeling.
